Betmate’s Fantasy Football is daily rather than season-long. By this we mean the Fantasy Football game is over after 90 minutes.
We found that with FPL unless you are top of the league by Xmas, then it can become quite boring and you forget to do your team. That’s why we created Fantasy Football on each fixture/s (multiple if they kick off at the same time) so you can keep that Fantasy fun going even if you score low on one pot.
Betmate’s point system differs from FPL, so make sure you check the rules tab before selecting a team.
At Betmate we believe defensive players are just as important as attackers so we decided to reward defensive actions (Tackles Won & Interceptions) as well as Goals and Assists.
This means you can score highly for those strong CDMs & CBs who you wouldn’t dream of picking on FPL.
All the points are rewarded by our stats provider Opta, so you can have no worries about where the data is coming from!
The rules can vary for different pots on Betmate’s Fantasy Football. Unlike FPL, we offer Fantasy Football on single and multiple fixtures but what does that mean? Here’s an example….
Multiple Fixture pot - A pot including multiple fixtures will cap the players you can pick from one team (it may be 2 or 3 depending on the fixture list). There will be no budget however so you can pick anyone from the teams in this pot.
Single Fixture pot - A pot including one fixture so two teams will cap the players you can pick from one team to 6 so you will always have to choose a minimum of 1 player from both teams. There will be no budget however so you can pick anyone from the teams in this pot.

Your Fantasy team’s points will update live in-play, powered by Opta stats, so you can celebrate every goal, tackle won, assist & more in real time.
One of the most exciting parts about Betmate’s Fantasy Football is that you can see your position on the leaderboard change throughout the 90 minutes, but wait until the pot has settled to see your final position just in case of last-minute action.
You have the choice to pick your Captain and Vice Captain on every Fantasy Football pot. These are two important picks.
Your Captain scores x2 pts.
Your Vice Captain scores x1.5 pts.
To appoint a player as Captain or Vice Captain, once you have selected a player to be in your team tap on them and then tap the button ‘Captain’ or ‘Vice Captain’ to appoint that player in this role. A ‘C’ or ‘V’ icon will appear on the player you choose to be in this role.
Remember, if you do not appoint a player as your Captain or Vice Captain, your two midfielders are automatically assigned to these roles so it’s super important to check as this can be the difference between winning and losing!
You can pick and save your team up until the pot starts. So yes, you can pick a team early and then change it once the lineups are out!
If someone gets injured in the warm-up - you’ve still got time to change your team!
If you forget to pick a Captain then remember before the game - you’ve still got time to change your team!
If you just panic that your team is rubbish and want to change it last minute - you’ve still got time to change your team!
Once the lineups are announced, the players who are starting the game will have a green tick by their player icon to highlight that they are starting.
